These specifications pertain to those services that have been preapproved by CNET Networks.
Please ask your sales representative for an approved-services list or documentation on the approval process for third-party delivery services.
CNET Networks will accept advertising only from third-party services that have been tested and approved to run on CNET Networks.
Cache confuser
Any images hosted by a third-party company should be formatted for CNET Networks to attach a time stamp to the third-party tags.
CNET Networks will work with the third-party company to ensure that the time stamp functions correctly in the CNET Networks publishing environment.
Performance
Any creative that delays load time or fails to appear on CNET Networks sites will be pulled immediately. Third-party tags must serve a default GIF/JPG for browsers that do not support rich media, JavaScript or IFRAMEs.
Tags
CNET Networks allows third-party rich-media tags (IFRAME) for the rotation of rich media and requests standard third-party tags (HREF, IMG SRC) for the use of GIF/JPG only. "Fourth-party" serving is not supported.
Testing
All creative must function uniformly on both Mac and PC formats as well as multiple browser versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer. Rich media ads should also properly display in Firefox or a default GIF should be displayed.
Submissions
Please send standard third-party tags (HREF, IMG SRC) or rich-media tags (IFRAME) via e-mail to advertiser@cnet.com.
Any creative not conforming to the above specifications will not be placed online and will result in delayed start dates.
