widget help

When I place the code, I don't see the Widget—the IFrame code displays instead. Why is this happening?
We decided to serve our Brand Widgets through IFrames, which ensure your content will display as expected even if there's a delay in loading the Widget. However, certain blog and social-networking sites (like LiveJournal and mySpace) strip IFrames. Our Widgets will therefore not display properly on those types of sites.

How can I get a Widget into the column of my blog?
We serve all our Widgets in IFrames. The way to implement IFrames in blogging software depends on the platform you are using. Consult the Help section of your blogging software to learn how to display HTML in your sidebar, or view our detailed instructions for Type Pad and Blogger.

I've waited for five minutes and my Widget still isn't appearing. Why?
There are several possible reasons why your Widget isn't being served. 1) You did not sign up or you failed to enter the URL where the Widget will be featured. Please visit the Brand Widget page to sign up. 2) On rare occasions, between the hours of 8 p.m and midnight Pacific time, delays of up to an hour can occur. 3) Your URL does not appear on our list of trusted domains. 4) There may be other technical issues—please contact us for troubleshooting help.

I signed up for a Widget but still don't see it appearing.
To understand where our content will be featured, and to maintain a partnership with you, we ask that you share the URL where you will be placing the embed code with us. Our systems serve the Widgets only to registered domains. Please make sure you entered the correct URL while registering.

I made a mistake in the registration process—can I start over?
Yes, feel free to start all over if you realize you made a mistake.

I lost my embed code. What was it again?
You should have received an e-mail notification with your embed code when you signed up. If you don't have the e-mail anymore, feel free to sign up again or contact us at opencontent@cnet.com.

I want to get rid of the Widget. How do I remove it from my site?
To remove a Widget from your site, simply delete the Widget code from your pages.

I want to have different content in my Widget. Can I customize it?
No. Widget content is determined by the participating CNET Networks brand.

My page is very slow. Is this caused by the Widget?
No. The Widget is placed in an IFrame, so even if there were a delay in loading the Widget, your content would still display as expected.
